Slender hands worked efficiently to soothe a bleeding hand.  A crewman had been showing off again, thus he’d sliced open his own hand.  Though it was a deep wound, it wasn’t too serious.  And the medic’s hands were smaller than the crewman’s, so it was made a lot easier to do what was needed.

Once the hand was properly bandaged, the crewman was sent off with medicine for the pain, more gauze, and careful instructions.  This way the poor man wouldn’t have to embarrass himself be returning to the beautiful room.  Oh, this wasn’t the usual rooms where such transactions were made.  This was the private bedchamber of the male who’d fixed up the crewman.

Left to his own devices, the strange young male sighed.  He had not even had a chance to dress yet.  So, he was currently still in his bedclothes.  Smoothing his tail absently, bright orange eyes danced around the lovely room.  Why had he slept so late?  Ah yes, he’d had matters to attend to the night before and had ended up staying later than he’d planned.  So, to bed late, to rise late.  How poor was his conduct!

So, it was time to rise and be well.  Moving about his room, the foxlike male gathered the items he needed and dressed.  When he left the cabin, he was in his familiar attire, a pale silver in color this time.  His hair and fur were both smoothly brushed and he looked ready to face the day.

Stepping onto deck, his eyes danced around the lazy movements.  So, he wasn’t too late to rise, others were still waking up, it seemed.  Spotting the captain, deep in thought, he turned away.  It would not do to bother someone so deep in their thoughts.  Not until they were prepared to speak.

Finding a small enclosure on the deck, the young male sat to watch.  Several crewman nodded to him respectfully and he inclined his head smoothly in reply.  It surprised him, though it did not show, how much respect he got.  Almost as much as the captain himself, which was rather unsettling.  For he did nothing but set bones and sew up gashes, while the captain led the ship.

Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back against the wood behind him, waiting for the ship to come alive.  The crewman quieted when they passed him, not wanting to disturb the slim figure.  Losing himself deep within his own thoughts, he pondered on the lives he had failed to save recently, it was always very frustrating when someone died under his care.  Recently two had, a new disease perhaps?  He didn’t know and hoped the captain would choose to dock soon, for the medic wanted to know if there was anything new he could pick up and learn about.

Brought out of his thoughts by Captain Vex’s words, orange eyes opened, ears angled forwards and the crew came to life.  “It’s amazing what a few words from the captain will do…“  Eidel Lawahiz was not only awake, his attention was on the crew.  He had no patients and he really didn’t want any if they were going to dock, so he wanted to be the first to arrive at any accident.
